He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Jack" and Nina Workman (Landon). He is survived by: his former wife Mary Hobbs (Poole); his daughter Alison "Ali" Welcher (Pat Henderson) of New London; his grandsons, Tate and Linken Welcher; and his sister Connie Brown (Jim) of Wilton. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.
