He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Joseph and Deloris Marie Witte Schaapveld; and his brothers, Richard and Wayne Schaapveld. He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Laughlin; his brother Joe; his son Alex Schaapveld (Rebecca) of Colorado; his grandchildren, Asher and Arlo Schaapveld; his siblings, Ronald Schaapveld (Michelle), Joseph Schaapveld, Diane Strong, Karen Schaapveld, Mary Bartenhagen and Debra Ferreira (Diego); his niece Trisha Brooks (Matt) of Milan, Illinois; and his grandchildren, Dylan, Kadynce, Kaffrey and Mylo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
