She was predeceased by: her parents, Christian James "Crick" and Helen Marie Shenk (Griffith); her husband Donald D. Sturms; and her brothers, James Shenk and Jerry Shenk.
She is survived by: her children, Tony Sturms of Muscatine, Todd Sturms (Shelly) of Letts and Dawn Sturms Dodds (Matt) of Muscatine; her grandchildren, Madison Nowak (Lucas), CJ Sturms, Adam Dodds and Morgan Dodds; her brother Steve Shenk; her siblings-in-law, Jean Haller and Jim Sturms (Barb) of Muscatine; and her son Mike Snyder of Muscatine.
Memorials for Ruth may be directed to the Muscatine Humane Society or American Cancer Society in recognition of Ruth being a breast cancer survivor.
