He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Harry and Merle Cleo Briggs (Reid); and his siblings, Betty Jean Briggs, Patricia Glenn, Orville Briggs, Phyllis Lindle, John Briggs, Junior Briggs and Mary Gillette.
He is survived by: his former spouse Jean Emerson; his children, Diane Briggs (Terry Benac) of Muscatine, Patrick Briggs of Medford, Sarah Benac of Muscatine and William Briggs of Muscatine; and his sister Lois Larson of La Habra. He is also survived by four grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Robert's name.
