She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Arthur Etter, Sr. and Vera Bernice Etter (Gatton); her husband Jeff Koehler; her sister Lenora Liggett; and her sister-in-law Shirley Etter.
She is survived by: her children, Lisa Elder (Lee) of Muscatine, Troy Helsley (Melissa) of Muscatine and Mindy Mann of Muscatine; her grandchildren, Heidi Ness (Eric), Rachel Elder, Zayne Helsley (Lissa), Zachery Smith, Taylar Helsley, Rachele Mann and Robert Shockley, Jr.; and her siblings, Warren Etter of Ainsworth, Harry Etter, Jr. of Muscatine, Bruce Etter (Virginia) of Columbus, Georgia and Mary Shepherd (Jim) of Indiana. She is also survived by her great grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Rita's name.
