He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Napoleon and Alice Myrtle Rubendall (Lightfield); and his half-brothers, Bruce and Scott Benhan. He is survived by: his wife Karon Sue Wehrhan of Muscatine; his children, Shawn Rubendall of Muscatine, Melinda Green (Chris) of Wilton and Alicia Wada (David) of Wilton; his grandchildren, Tyler Fowler (April Daniels), Samantha Ormsby (Nathan), Zach Rubendall, Trey Sulzberger, Kammeri Sulzberger, Peyton Elliott and Dane Wada; his great grandchildren, Theo Fowler, Alexis Daniels, Caiden Daniels, Noah Ormsby, Brayleigh Sulzberger and Quinton Fender; his half-siblings, Kenneth Benhan of Texas, Larry Benhan of Texas, Yvonne Hafer of Texas and Tammy Miller of Texas; and his pet Jack.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Children's Hospital in memory of Rick.
