He was predeceased by: his parents, Merritt Roy Conklin and Evelyn May Fry Conklin; his parents-in-law, Theodore R. Kemper and Mae I. Fix Kemper; and his nephew Tim Lane.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Conklin of Muscatine; his sons, Travis Conklin of Elizabeth and Shane Conklin of Muscatine; his grandchildren, Kayla McHugh, Logen Conklin, Kara Conklin, Kari Conklin and Avery Conklin-Ryan; his siblings, Pat Lane (Roger) and Larry Conklin of Muscatine; his niece Thresa Lane of Muscatine; his nephew Larry Conklin Jr. of Des Moines; his sister-in-law Ruby Culbertson (late Dale) of Moline; his nephew Michael Culbertson; his niece Jana Mckinney; his sister-in-law Iona Reid (Tom) of West; and his nieces and nephews, Rodney and Pat Reid.
