He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Spaulding and Annabel L. Hamlin Spaulding; his wife Barbara L. Severs; his son Michael S. Spaulding; his sister Mary Dwyer; and his brothers-in-law, Dave Funk, Wayne Rogers and Larry Dwyer.
He is survived by: his daughter Sharon K. Herlein (Randy) of North Liberty; his grandchildren, Jay Herlein of North Liberty and Abigail Herlein of Denver, Colorado; and his siblings, Larry Spaulding (Sally), Robert Spaulding (JoAnn), Helen Funk and Judy Rogers.
Memorials may be made to the family to be distributed to different charities.
