He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Brookhart and Lilly Leota Courtney Brookhart; his wife Dixie Lee Erkson; and his siblings, Delbert Brookhart and Mildred Wittmer.
He is survived by: his daughters, Vicki Lawhead (Carlin) of Muscatine, Debbie Barton (Joe) of Killen, Kathy Healy (Liam) of Illinois City and Mary Morgan (Mike) of Muscatine; and his grandchildren, Chris Lawhead, Connor Lawhead, Eric Barton (Kaleena), Michelle Stoffel (Jestin), Stephanie Anderson (Josiah), Aaron Healy, Hannah Mackey (Kelvin), Nick Morgan, Travis Morgan and Ben Morgan.
Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
