He was predeceased by: his parents, Clark Askam and Irma Evelyn Finley Askam; his children, Melody Tompkins and Michael Tompkins; and his siblings, Wilma, Marie, Dorothy, Florence, Helen, Margaret, Betty, Herbert, Lester, Clark and Walter.
He is survived by: his wife Joann Rose Marks; his sons, Mark Tompkins, Craig Askam (Wendy) and Brad Askam (Regina); his grandchildren, Jacob Askam (Ashley), Megan Rodriguez (Roy), Ryan Askam (Luci) and Kiersten Askam; and his great grandchild Navy Elizabeth Rodriguez. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
