He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Dolson and Juanita Ida Macklan Phelps; his wives, Dorothy J. Orr and Janet Dowd; his great grandchild Jacqueline Dell; his brother Donald Phelps; and his in-laws, Lenny and Marie Orr.
He is survived by: his daughters, Barbara Beason (Mike) of Waukee, Cynthia Snider (Howard) of Seymour, Diane Frantz (Mike) of Muscatine and Susan Wolf (Craig) of Muscatine; and his grandchildren, Craig Beason (Kelly), Ann Perrin, Michelle Lange (Lance), Jill Dell (Justin), Kristen Paris (Levi), Michael Frantz (Casey), Josh Avesing, Paige Wymer (Scott) and Ethan Frantz (Savannah). He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren; and three stepdaughters.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home (1931 Houser St, Muscatine, IA 52761). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Mary and Mathias ChurchMary and Mathias Church (215 W 8th St, Muscatine, IA 52761).
