He was predeceased by: his aunt Aileen. He is survived by: his parents, Larry Bovenkamp and Ann Bovenkamp (Osborn) of Newton; his wife Michelle; his children, Abigail, Nathaniel and Nicolette; his siblings, Michelle Johnson (Steven) of Des Moines and David Bovenkamp (Anthony Vsetula) of Denver; and his niece Lauren Johnson of Des Moines. He is also survived by extended family and numerous friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be welcomed to establish an educational fund for his children or may be directed to the Iowa State University Department of Music.
