Carlson of Muscatine, Iowa, born in Sydney, New South Wales, who passed away on December 6, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Klindworth and Mildred Klindworth; her brother Don; her husband E. Herbert Carlson; her son-in-law Craig Koll; her granddaughter Alicia Smith; and her son-in-law Mark McKee.
She is survived by: her sisters, Ann, Salvation Army, Auxiliary, Craft Guild of Iowa City and Midwest Weavers Guild; her children, Lawrence Carlson (Christine), Wendy Carlson-Koll of Jackson, WY, Lisa Wickert of Pleasant Hill, IA and Karen Harper; and her grandchildren, Connie Carlson (Jamie Bulrice) of New Orleans, LA, DeMaris McKee of Des Moines, IA, F. Scott McKee (Olivia) of Austin, TX, Erica Henderson (Carlin) of Indianapolis, IN and Joel Wickert of Pleasant Hill, IA..
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Joan's memory be directed to the Community Foundation for the benefit of the new Mulberry Health Clinic, a donation of food, children's gift, or time to the Salvation Army of Muscatine, or to Wesley United Methodist Church.
