He is survived by: his children, James Spurling of Muscatine, Richard Spurling of Muscatine, Andrew Spurling (Toni) of Muscatine, Melody Doughty (Lee Genz) of Bettendorf, Susan Sterner of Stockton, Loretta Hopkins (Bob) of Muscatine and Ginger McCrabb (Dave) of Topeka, Kansas; and his sister Betty Larson of Pocahontas. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren.
