He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro Martinez and Elena Martinez (Diaz); his wife Sherry Lee Thorne; his granddaughter Sadie Alvarado; and his sisters, Angela Cardona, Margie Gonzalez and Flora Gutierrez.
He is survived by: his children, Freddy Martinez (Nadine) of Muscatine, Peter Martinez of Muscatine, Wendy Martinez of Muscatine, Brandy Gilpin (Joshua) of Muscatine and Cindy Echevarria (Cruz) of Muscatine; and his siblings, Frank Cardona, Mary Garcia, Pauline Hernandez, Pete Martinez Jr. and Alice Pineda. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services (2907 Mulberry Ave, Muscatine, IA 52761). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
