We are sad to announce that on November 4, 2021, Gerlinde Maria Martinez of Muscatine, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ivan R. Day and Gertrude Boche Day; and her husband Ernesto 'Ernie E. Martinez Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Jose 'Joe Cogdill (Deb Roser) of Muscatine and Fredrick Cogdill of Vancouver, Washington; her grandchild Nia Brockert; her great-nephews, Carson, Hayden, Cameron and Braxton; her siblings, Ivan L. Day (Donna) of Davenport, Fred G. Day (Evie) of Muscatine and Renate Day of Muscatine; and also, Esperanza Brockert (Tim) of Muscatine, Jesus Martinez (Julia) of Muscatine, Anita Ramirez of Rock Island, Nancy Ash (Dean) of Muscatine, Sharon Phillips, Robin Wade, Gerianne Reichert, Jessica Phillips and Isaiah Phillips. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Gerlinde's honor to Pearl City Outreach to be used for the Pineridge South Dakota Indian Reservation and the Pearl City Outreach back to school for children in our area.
