He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucas Alanis and Paula Cortez Alanis. He is survived by: his close friend Beverly Razo of Muscatine; his children, Maria Harris of Muscatine, Gavino Jr. of Colfax, Iowa, Paula of Marshalltown, Iowa and Dora of Valdosta, Georgia; and his stepchildren, Manuel Salazar of Galesburg, Illinois and Lucy Garcia of Kansas. He is also survived by siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
