He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Houseman and Effie Houseman (Bailey); his wife Sharren Newcomb; and his brothers, Ray Houseman and Cecil Houseman.
He is survived by: his children, Kim Stroughmatt of Muscatine, Robin Swanson of Lincoln and Samuel Houseman of Fredonia, Iowa.; his grandchildren, Clay Strause, Ashley Keller (Strause), Cassandra Swanson, Samantha Swanson, Chandler Houseman, Zach Houseman, Alyssa Houseman, Amanda Ray, Thomas Keller and Alexander Swanson; and his great grandchildren, Cole Strause, Kaiden Strause, Charlie Keller, Axton Houseman, Brielle Stanbro, Ryan Jones, Primrose Jones, Aivah Houseman, Freya Houseman and Anthony Houseman Jr.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
