He is survived by: his children, Janet Derksen (John) of Muscatine, James Bermel (Susan) of Muscatine and Ronald Bermel (Deborah) of Muscatine; his grandchildren, Angela Tramel (Christopher), Gregory Derksen (Amy), Bradley Derksen, Jeffrey Derksen (Paula), Jesse Bermel (Ashley), Jason Bermel (Morgen), Todd Bermel (Dawn), Traci Schoer (Brian), Troy Bermel, Elizabeth Sharff (Brian) and Melinda Bermel (Cory Jones); and his siblings, Evelyn Jewett, Arlene Daufeldt, Delores Hammann and Albert 'Junior Bermel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
