He was predeceased by: his parents, Scott Jones and Nancy Jones (Johnson); his wife Betty Buster; his son Eugene; his great grandchildren, Chloe and Abagail Hopkins; and his sister Ruth Ann Kammerer.
He is survived by: his children, DeWayne Hopkins (Jill) of Muscatine, Patricia Searcy (Brian) of Muscatine, William Hopkins (Lori) of Muscatine, Dale T. Jones (Debbie) of Muscatine and Janell Barnes (Johnnie) of Hartselle, Alabama; and his close friends, Dean, Sharon Dahms and Donnie Snavely. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions at the time of his wife, Betty's passing the family had held private services.
