She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Thompson and Gertrude Simmons Thompson; her spouse Russell Gail Kauffman; and her sisters, Mary Richardson and Janice Ehrich.
She is survived by: her children, Katherine K. Ternes (Tim) of Iowa City, Gregory G. Kauffman (Judy) of Muscatine and Melissa L. Fourneau (Ismael) of Muscatine; her grandchildren, Cody Kauffman, Whitney Leza, Chad Hunter, Michael Hunter, Neal Ternes, Sidney Rudolph and Olivia Fourneau; and her brother Philip Thompson of Pipestone, Minnesota.. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
