He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyral Hartman and LaVerda Hartman (Freyermuth); his daughter Buffy Hartman; his sister Debbie Hedman; and his half-siblings, Donna Gardner, Pat Nafziger, Tom Hartman and Richard Hartman.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Karen Beason of Muscatine; his children, Stephanie Torrance (Steve) of Muscatine and Darren Hartman (Brittany Carter) of Wilton; and his grandchildren, Hadley, Finley, Declan, Madalynn and Easton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
