She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Schmitt and Pearl Adams Schmitt; her husband William Battey; and her brothers, Clifton, Earl and Clinton Schmitt.
She is survived by: her sons, Gary (Marcia) of Muscatine and Douglas (Sherie) of Florida. She is also survived by six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren.
