He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Marlay and Doris Couch Marlay; his wife Joann Gramling; his siblings, Lester Garland Marlay and Lois Jean Ross; and his siblings-in-law, Jerry Ross and Laura Marlay.
He is survived by: his friends, Bob Glass and Gary Goehring; his children, Jerry Marlay (Leanne) of Clinton, Greg Marlay (Anita) of Camdenton, Missouri and Jo Elaine Eichelberger (Bruce) of Wayland, Iowa; his grandchildren, Laina Eichelberger, Lee Eichelberger (Becky), Lindsay Eichelberger (Peter Bowman), Carson Marlay (Kate), Kyle Marlay, Troy Marlay, Alexis Ool (Kevin) and Lindy Henke (Lance); and his brothers, Jim Marlay (Julie) of Ottumwa and John Marlay of Selma, Iowa. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in Lyle's honor may be made to the Van Buren County High School FFA.
