It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Fleig Jr. of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, born in Fairfield, Iowa, who passed away on September 30, 2024, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William and Mary Fleig Sr. (Ryan); and his brother Donald. He is survived by: his wife Jan Calhoun; his stepdaughters, Brandy Christe (Shane) of Bellville, IL and Kelly Miller (Stanton) of Smithfield, IL; his stepgrandchildren, Austin Christe and Kaytlyn Dryden; his stepgreat-grandchild Kennedy Dryden; his siblings, Denise Blough of Iowa City, Randy Fleig (Bert) of Libertyville, Cinda Emerson (Bruce) of Fairfield and Jeff Fleig (Laura) of St. Charles, MO; his brother-in-law Dave Calhoun (Beth) of Marion; and his pets, Beau and Memphis.
The family will be present to greet friends beginning at 4:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Henry County Sheriff K-9 Program.
