He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Whaley and Alice M. Whaley (Edwards); and his brother Roger Whaley. He is survived by: his wife Chris; his children, Nick Whaley (Anne) of St. Paul, MN and Kyla Schafer (Mark) of Ottumwa; his grandchildren, Ember, Rupsha Whaley, Shaley, Bria and Avery Schafer; and his sisters, Wanda Pate (Bill) of Saucier, MS and Marlene Medin (Ron) of Jefferson City, MO..
The family will be present to greet friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. Memorial funds have been established for the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House and the American Cancer Society.
