It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phillip Albert Rich of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, who passed away on February 23, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Forest Milo "Frosty" and Lillie N. Rich (Bain); his wife Wilma Smithburg; his grandson Nathan Mallams; and his brother Donald J. Rich.
He is survived by: his children, Phillip Rich (Kara) of Chariton, Teresa Mallams (John) of Mt. Pleasant and Curtis Rich (Mindy) of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren, Angela, Matthew, Joshua, Heather and Alexa (P. J.); his great grandchildren, Raylee, Kylie, Zayden, Zebulon and Lillian; and his stepchildren, Linda Boese (Clinton) of Pella, Nancy Asby (Roger) of Lockridge and Edward Smithburg (Vivian) of West Olive, Michigan..
In lieu of flowers family suggests memorials may be directed to the Trenton Missionary Church, the Green Mound Cemetery or to the VanVorhies Haus in his memory.
