He was predeceased by: his parents, Ward V. Heaton and Jean Miles Heaton; his son David; and his parents-in-law, Viola and Philip Crawford.
He is survived by: his wife Carmen Crawford; his daughter Mary Elizabeth Carrick (Ben) of Omaha, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Sophia and Patrick Carrick; his siblings, Denny Heaton (Judy McCuen) of Mt. Pleasant and Jan Gordon (Leo) of Los Angeles, California; his siblings-in-law, Mary Crawford of Georgetown, Jo Crawford of Falls City, Nebraska and Bill Crawford (Karolyn) of Winfield; his nephews, Chris (Erin), Mike Heaton (Abigail), Ari, Jason Gordon (Ed) and Philip Crawford of Winfield; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Robert, Eli Heaton, Keegan, Kya Heaton, Avery, Jacob Gordon and Audrianna Crawford.
