It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cecelia J. Richards of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, born in Niota, Illinois, who passed away on November 4, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hogan and Florence Hogan (Boeddeker); her husband Dick Richards of Joseph's Catholic Church; her daughter-in-law Michelle Richards; and her siblings, Alberta Wetherill, Irene Parrott, Margaret Haas, Cleta Beimer, Martha Galbraith, George, John D. and Bernard Hogan.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Brown (Randy) of Mount Union, David Richards (Cathy Sanders) of Montrose and Mark Richards of Danville; her grandchildren, Mitch Brown (Julie), Sarah Edwards, Kevin Brown (Kelsey), David Richards, Mary Richards, Curtis Richards (Mary), Trent Richards (Melissa Flowers) and Miranda Richards; and her sister Mary Scheetz of Nauvoo, Illinois.. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church (607 S Jackson St, Mt Pleasant, IA 52641). A Mass was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
