She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Theodore and Donna Fay Bruggemeyer (Woodard); her husband Jerry L. Smith; her siblings, William "Ted" Bruggemeyer, Becky Benz and Radonna Lynn Bruggemeyer; and her stepson Scott Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Jason Miller (Rebecca) of Brookeland and Jesse Miller (Tara) of Ankeny; her great grandchildren, Jacob Miller, Nathan Miller, Paige Miller, Zachary Root (Tori), Jacob Root (Cecilia), Joshua Root, Lexi and Lawrence Root; her sisters, Cindy Dorothy (Keith) of Mt. Pleasant and Barb Hamilton (Dean) of Mt. Pleasant; her stepsons, Doug Smith (Diana) of Mt. Pleasant and Jason Smith (Debbie) of Mt. Pleasant; her stepgrandchildren, Kelsey DeWitt (Eli), Kirsten Johnson (Tucker), Kenna Bodenham (Aaron), Emma Smith and Abby Smith; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Trice and Blakely DeWitt.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home (408 N Broadway St, Mt Pleasant, IA 52641). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Green Mound Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Henry County Master Gardeners or to the Mt. Pleasant Little League Association in her memory.
