He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredric John and Helen Vye Van Laar (Baker); his wife Anna Louise Fitzgerald; his granddaughter-in-law Natalie Cooney; his siblings, John (Verda Van Laar), Donald (Merna Van Laar), Lucille (Martin Kraus), Lurene (Carl Brammer) and Dorothy Jenkins; and his in-laws, Charles Fitzgerald, John, Donna Fitzgerald, William, Aves Fitzgerald, Doyle Wookey and Duane Wookey.
He is survived by: his friend Raymond; his daughters, Janine (Tim Cooney) and Janette (Darren Campbell); his grandchildren, Chris Cooney, Matt, Jennifer Cooney, Makenzie and Brock Still; his great grandchildren, Dylan, Tatiana, Gavin, Maxx, Jaxx, Kambreigh and Aspen; and his sisters-in-law, Norma Binning of Grand River, IA, Doris Wookey of Grand River, IA and Betty Fitzgerald of Des Moines, IA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial fund has been established for the Grand River Community Center.
