He was predeceased by: his parents, Beulah Walter and Jerald Walter; and his son Samuel Walter. He is survived by: his wife Donna Wallace Walter; his brother Merle Walter (Patti); his children, Ben Walter (Laura), Erin Bailey (Heath) and Roxanne Walter (Kevin Webb); his grandchildren, Cody Walter (Devin), Conner Walter and Casey Walter; his children, Ryan Collins, Anna Collins, Evan Collins, Sara Collins, Madison Walter-Walkup, Isabel Walkup, Brendon Walter (Devona), Jacob Walter (Ashley), Marissa Walter (Tanner Shere) and Braeton Rinner; and his great grandchildren, Aubrey Walter, Addison Walter, Freya Walter and Skyelynn Hamilton. He is also survived by family members and friends.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Legion Post #172 in Mt. Ayr, IA or the Benton Cemetery Avenue of Flags in honor of Ken's military service.
