She was predeceased by: her parents, William Adams and Geraldine Adams (Summa); her husband Dr. Duane E. Mitchell; her son Stephen Mitchell; her son-in-law Verd Bailey; and her brothers, William and James Adams.
She is survived by: her daughter Cherri Bailey of Loveland; her daughter-in-law Cindy Mitchell of Kansas City, MO; her grandchildren, Chad Hunt (Vera) of Mount Ayr, IA, Neil Hunt (Suzanne) of New Bern, NC, Ryan Hunt (Jillian) of Salem, OR, Brooke Marshall (Casey) of Kansas City, MO, Kary Wilson (Adam) of Camas, WA and Michael Mitchell (Katie) of Merriam, KS; her stepgrandchildren, Brad Bailey (Danielle) of Las Vegas, NV and Rebecca Bailey of Las Vegas, NV; her great grandchildren, Jared, Brett, Julia Hunt, Montana, Shayla Hunt, Evan, Scotty Marshall, Wren, Olive, Poppy Wilson and Cooper Mitchell; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Grace, Ford, Faith Bailey, Erik Turner and Sophia Bailey; and her sister Rose Lee Catlin. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church (201 W Monroe St, Mt Ayr, IA 50854).
A memorial fund has been established in her name to the First Christian Church in Mount Ayr.
