He was predeceased by: his parents, Darold Telsrow and Delores Telsrow (Ross); his stepmother Ruby; his sons, Donavan, Jr. and Ian; his nephew JJ Reimers; and his brother-in-law Kris Heilmann.

He is survived by: his wife Beth Coss; his sons, Derrick Telsrow (Katherine Ball) of Punta Gorda and Trent Telsrow (Kelly) of Atalissa, Iowa; his grandchildren, Mylo, Lola and Kaia; his siblings, Deanna Reimers (Jim) of Davenport, Deborah Cole (Lavern) of Bennett, Duane "Dewey" Telsrow of Wilton, Dale "Browse" Telsrow of Wilton, Douglas Telsrow (Peg Conrad) of Maggie Valley and Dennis Telsrow of West Branch, Iowa; and his stepsisters, Cindy Ploog of Charlotte, Sally Schmidt of West Branch and Susan Heilmann of West Branch, Iowa. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
