He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Armstrong and Anna Laura Armstrong (Couchman); and his siblings, Pat, Phyllis, Maxine and Johnny.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Armstrong (Chapman); his sisters, Mary Taylor and Wanda Armstrong; his children, Cadance Armstrong (Jonathan Kamerick), Parker Armstrong, Thomas Armstrong, Daniel Armstrong and Ben Armstrong; and his granddaughters, Jessica Snow, Aurora Comegys and Susan Swenson.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home-Centerville (501 N 18th St, Centerville, IA 52544). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
