He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Steil and Erma Steil (Logan); his wife Linda Olson; his daughter Marie; his grandson Greg Patterson; and his siblings, Sylvia Lowe, Judy Johnson, Don Steil, Mary Ross and Jean Graham.

He is survived by: his children, Richard (Teresa Steil), Debbie (David Hood), Toni (Jim Reese), Kris (John Blackford) and Mark Steil; and his pet Missy. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in care of Richard's family.
