With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joe Hayes of Moravia, Iowa, who passed away on March 15, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Joe had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Joe may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Hayes and Margaret Hayes (Gibson); and his brother Larry Hayes. He is survived by: his wife Marcella Hayes of Centerville; his children, Jolene Hayes and Jimmy Hayes (Michelle); and his grandchildren, Mahlia Henderson, Bradley Piatt and Megan Gerber (Nate).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home-Centerville (501 N 18th St, Centerville, IA 52544). A graveside service was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sales Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the family which will be designated at a later date.
