She was predeceased by: her parents, Orlo Maurice and Goldie Mae Shaffer (Scott); her husband Loyle F. Kratz; her stepmother Odessa Shaffer (Hutcheson); her brothers, Randall Shaffer and Chuck Shaffer (Donna); and her sons-in-law, Ken Stephens and Dave Bonafilia.

She is survived by: her children, Cathy Stephens (Harold Remmenga) of Onawa, Judy Bonafilia of Omaha and Ron Kratz (Deb) of Omaha, Nebraska; her grandchildren, Kim Loneman (John) of Omaha, Mike Bonafilia (Heather) of Omaha, Kevin Bonafilia (Kayla) of Omaha, Mandy Phillips (Otis) of Lake Waukomis and Kelly McGranahan (Nate) of Blair, Nebraska; her great grandchildren, Lindsay, Mason Loneman, Rylee, Reis Bonafilia, Arianna, Kynzleigh, Kamden Bonafilia, Eli, Josie Phillips, Clay, Levi, Avery and Judah McGranahan; and her brother Richard Shaffer (Paula) of Salem, Oregon..

A funeral service will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Bethesda Lutheran Church, Moorhead, Iowa with Pastor Chip Borgstadt officiating. (Please bring and wear masks).

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation in Ethel Mae's memory.
