She was predeceased by: her mothers, Vivian "Blackie" and Katherine "Katie" Dinges Kent; her husband Lloyd Smith; her daughter Katherine Nye; her siblings, Viola Hardman and Frank Kent; and her stepparents, Virginia Kent and Joe Clark.
She is survived by: her sons, Wendell Smith (Wilma) of Montrose, Raymond Smith (Kathy) of Beaumont and Jerry Hardman (Glenda) of Kentucky; her half-sisters, Josephine Shaefer of Canyon City and Marjorie Murphy of Dexter, Iowa; and her son-in-law Glenwood "Woody" Nye of Decatur, Illinois.. She is also survived by five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; some great-great-grandchildren.
