He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Earnest and Ruth Elaine Anderson Alter; and his siblings, Ivan, Deanne and Joyce.
He is survived by: his spouse Carol A. Strickland; his daughter SuzAnne Griffis of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren, Tyler, TiAhnna, Clint and Justin; his sister-in-law Mary Alter; his nieces, Susan Skinner and Bonnie Alter; and his nephew Linc Alter. He is also survived by numerous great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces.
