He was predeceased by: his parents, Floren Richard and Marjorie Kimball Welsh; his brothers, Gary and John Welsh; and his sister-in-law Barb Welsh.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Fichtenkort; his stepsons, Scott Artzen (Lauren) of Davis, CA and Jeffry Artzen of Keokuk; his stepgrandchildren, Jacob Artzen (Evelyn), Emma Artzen, Clara Artzen and Alex Artzen; his great grandchild Finneas; and his sisters-in-law, Jeanne Welsh of Montrose, IA and Nellie Welsh of Argyle, IA..
