He was predeceased by: his parents, William Brokens and Anna Brokens (Balster); his wife Velda Rickels; and his siblings, Helen Boss, Robert Brokens and Kenneth Brokens.
He is survived by: his sons, Gary (Lucinda) of Scotch Grove and Greg (Susan) of Iowa Falls; his grandchildren, Lindsay Carlson (Ryan), Ashley Ferry (Brock), Jonathan Brokens (Emily), Becky Tarr (Doug) and Tony Brokens (Christy); and his great grandchildren, Cadence, Annelise Carlson, Vincent, James, Rhett Ferry, Lucas Brokens, Jackson, Gavin Neely, Dakota Tarr, Tucker, Hudson Brokens, Devonny and Brenna Goodman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, many friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Veterans' Perspective, Quilts of Valor, Honor Flight, or Wounded Warriors in Edward's name.
