She was predeceased by: her parents, William Dirks and Myrtle Dirks (Smith); her husband Tom Kirby; her granddaughters, Stacey Carlson and Samantha Jo Putz; her siblings, Eugene Dirks, Anna Kray (Lawrence), Lavonne Peters (Harold), Wanita Nehl (Gib) and Helen Drumbarger (Bob); her parents-in-law, Paul and Helen Kirby; and her in-laws, Janette Strang (Joseph), Robert Kirby and Kenneth Kirby.
She is survived by: her daughters, Valerie Bacon (Curt) of Hopkinton, Theresa Carlson (Bob) of Monticello and Laura Gearhart (Rob) of Coggon; her grandchildren, Alecia, Jeremy Bacon (Rachel), Devin Putz, Justin Carlson (Rhea), Ryan Gearhart and Jenna Krahmer (Gavin); her great grandchildren, Adalyn, Rowan Bacon, Caiden, Mila, Wyatt Putz and Emmalee Carlson; and her in-laws, Helen Dirks of Monticello, Alan Kirby (Lorna) of Strawberry Point, Sandy Kirby of Strawberry Point, Ronald Kirby (Kathy) of Strawberry Point and Karen Baumgartner (Jim) of Strawberry Point. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Kramer Funeral Home (700 E Oak St, Monticello, IA 52310). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. The inurnment was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the Oakwood Cemetery.
