He is survived by: his spouses, Joan Johnson and Carolyn; his children, Charles Tonn II (Shelley) of Dubuque, Megan Tonn, Bailey Tonn and Douglas Tonn (Susan Krapfl) of Dubuque; and his grandchildren, John "Jack", Luke Tonn, Joan Tonn of Rowley, Barbara Anderle (Kieth) of Pleasant Hill, Joseph Czizek of Des Moines and Michael Czizek (Sue) of India.
