She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Blome and Carolyn Blome (Hartman); her husband Wally; her sons, David Mathes and Kim Mathes; her great grandchild Maddison Mathes; and her brother Carroll Blome.
She is survived by: her former husband Wallace Mathes; her children, Connie Mathes of Montezuma, Cathie Ochoa (Hector) of Timberville, VA, Jon Mathes of Pella and Carolyn Mathes of Grinnell; her grandchildren, Shelly Allen (Chad), Kelly Moore, Mike Mathes, Matt Mathes (Mandy), Jon Mathes (Tamara), Jamie Cunningham (Dylan), Melanie Mathes and Freddy Ochoa; her sister Frances Bowers-Cook of Grinnell; her sisters-in-law, Freda Slawson (Bruce), Joy Schwartz and Wanda Mathes; and also Harry. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Manor Foundation Van Fund or the DAV.
