He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Arendt and Dolores Arendt; his son William Arendt; his brother Melvin Arendt Jr.; and his parent-in-law Richard.

He is survived by: his wife Lea Arendt of Montezuma; his sons, David Arendt of Montezuma and Michael Arendt (Nicole) of Montezuma; his grandchildren, Michael Arendt II (Shannon) of Montezuma and Heather Snook (Adam) of Montezuma; his great grandchildren, Alisha Arendt, Gaige Arendt, Brayden Arendt, Hunter Van Dee, Chloe Snook and Emma Snook; his siblings, Shirley Bolen (Bill) and Jim Arendt (Sally) of Sunset Beach; his sister-in-law Mary Rethman (Don) of San Antonio; and also, Colton and Katie. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Montezuma Dollars for Scholars or the Montezuma Volunteer Fire Department.
