He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Walter and Delores Walter (Duncan); his aunt Erma Smith of Marshalltown; and his uncle Gerald Duncan of Grinnell. He is survived by: his daughter Carrie Jo Barnes (Doug) of Montezuma; his granddaughters, Jenna Walter (Trenton Witt) of Oskaloosa, Natosha Walter and Brianna Foubert of Montezuma; and his siblings, Ben Walter (Diane) of Ballwin, William Walter (Barb) of New Sharon and Linda Kuntz (Art) of Brooklyn. He is also survived by four nieces, two nephews, five great nephews, six great nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may go to his daughter to be put towards his granddaughter's education and may be sent to P.O. Box 103 Montezuma IA 50171.
