He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Spain and Lucille Lambirth Spain; his son Jeff; his parents-in-law, Walter and Maxine Ketels; his siblings, Darlene Hess (Chuck) and Kenneth Spain; and his sisters-in-law, Karen Willett (Ralph) and Judi Ketels.
He is survived by: his wife Sherri Ketels; and his son Jim (Robin Boisen) of Des Moines. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home (201 W Main St, Montezuma, IA 50171). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Montezuma Methodist Church, the Blakley-Stevens American Legion Post 169 or the Montezuma Fire and Rescue.
