We are sad to announce that on April 28, 2024, at the age of 74, Dorothy Joan Hiemstra of Monroe, Iowa, born in Oskaloosa, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Nooy and La Verda De Nooy (Van Wyk); her brother Carrol De Nooy of Sioux Center, Iowa; her grandparents, Ella Van Wyk (Wyngarden), John Arie and Christina Johanna De Nooy (Gonlag); and her in-laws, Harold Hiemstra, Alvin Hiemstra, Lonnah Hiemstra, Glen Hiemstra and Wayne Hugen.
She is survived by: her husband Stanley Ray Hiemstra; her daughter Sandra Lynn Brackett (LaVerne) of Indianola; her grandchildren, Kaitlynn Brown and Ethan Brown; her daughter Julie Renee Miles (Mike) of Checotah; her grandchildren, Mark Miles (Leah), Jonathan Miles (Audrey), Ryan Miles and Renee Miles; her son Brian Ray Hiemstra (Kris) of Knoxville; her grandchildren, Jacob Hiemstra, Emerson Hiemstra, Kenzie Cordes (Austin) and Kennedy McDonald; her son Bradley Ray Hiemstra (Kim) of Pella; her grandchildren, Kyli Hiemstra, Elah Hiemstra, Vyncent Hiemstra, Addyson Hiemstra and Hudson Hiemstra; her siblings, Arvin De Nooy (Brenda) of Sully, Ron De Nooy of Reasnor, Bonnie De Nooy of Sully and Carla Nieuwsma (Les) of Pella; and her in-laws, Marvin Hiemstra (Viv), Ruth Hugen, Norma Hiemstra and Karen Hiemstra.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Living Word Fellowship in Knoxville.
