He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Martin Herrema and Dena Herrema (Noteboom); his former wife Kathy Allen; his wife Pam Wilson; his children, Jenny Purcell (Justin) and David Herrema (Kim); his stepchildren, Eric Dykstra and Meghan Kelly (Keysto); his grandchildren, Britney, Blake Samuelson, Olivia, Gavin Herrema, Kage and Brexton Kelly; his siblings, Shirley Watkins, Mary Olson (Ray), Betty DeBoer and Larry Herrema; his stepdaughter Dana Samuelson; and his sister Diane Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Jasper County Habitat for Humanity, the DMACC Newton Campus Building Trades Program, or Hospice of Pella (Comfort House).
